A Brief Concept About Culture
Some
countries have a lot of migration of people. These countries are melting pot of
different cultures, each it is distinguishing one societal group from another. Our
patterns of behavior or thinking are influencing by traditions and customs of a
mainstream the we born. We our first meet with customs and traditions is with
our nuclear family. The process of learning a tradition and customs are simple
because we live it daily and the knowledge pass from one generation to the
next. As a result, we have a society with are almost same characteristic such
as activities, beliefs and language. We can to call it culture. After, culture becomes
the lens through which we perceive and evaluate what is going on around us.
Culture
is important because is the expression of what is in men’s hearts, minds and
souls. People from different parts of the world have different cultural values.
Because It’s the way people live. So, developing a concept about aspect of
culture is a result of interaction with people who make up your culture. It
manifests itself in the forms of arts, literature, religion, language and
religion. Furthermore, when immigrants come to other country. They could be in
a culture shock because they are straddling two cultures. For instance, I am
from Ecuador. In my country to say hello, we kiss on the cheek the opposite sex
but in America is totally different, Americans just shake hand.
Overall,
in any group, organization or society there may be different people of various
backgrounds and cultures working together under one root. Understanding
cultural difference is helpful in bringing people together. So, we need to know
the two different parts of culture. They are surface and deep culture. Frist
are tangible norms that we are aware of can see but in some case, we will not
know why about that o these. On the other hand, deep culture refers to those
norms that are not obvious. It is more about ideas and beliefs or feelings too.
We can only learn it imitating other. Finally, through lifelong and
ever-changing processes of learning, and sharing, culture shapes our patterns
of behavior and thinking.
It
is important to know the past that has shaped your present and is going to
influence your future. Culture is all around us. It is the unit with which can
measure society. To take pride in the culture you belong to and to respect its
teachings, you must first know it. As a newcomer in Chicago. I recommend learning
about culture before to move of a country. That can help you into adaptation process.
There are many different cultures within
one society, and they can all be respected so that the group can get along and
function properly.
